[quote=BMielke;1185693]I'm doing a news story on the growing trend of New Yorkers who have gotten rid of their landlines, and are excusively using cell phones for all their calls. If you live in the New York area and have made this switch,

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

well yes..i did rid our landlines since i think its no use for us since each one of us have cellphones and what is the point of having a landmine now? and besides more cheaper and very convenient since you can make a call anywhere..

You are absolutely right about college kids. When I was in school, we never got land lines connected when we would move. College kids live solely off of their cell phones and computers. Actually, I have been out of college for two years now and I still don't have a land line at my house.

I only keep it because I live in a basement apartment and my service is not the greatest unless I go outside and right now it is too cold for that. Otherwise Yes it would be gone.

Still have our land line, although it is VoIP (thru our cable company), so it's only $34.95/mo for unlimited calling in the US. Of course, everyone in the family has a cellphone, and we use those almost as much as the land line.

I got rid of my landline five years ago and have never looked back. I absolutely have no regrets.

This is our next discussion. Our landline has our dsl so I don't know. I don't think we can afford these 3 cell phones plus unlimited long distance land line with dsl.
