Would buying a serial data cable for the t809 allow me to fix this problem or at least get my phone contacts that are saved on my phone?

Hi guys, I am new and have an urgent problem. Everything works fine with my phone except for the keypad. I can receive calls, but I can't send out texts, receive texts, or call anyone. Only the hang up button on my phone works....the rest of the keypad doesn't work at all. Can anyone out there help me at all?
