I only know I can click and track my movements, get directions, and see everything on a map. I don't know if NavTeq is the company providing the service or if any other GPS company is involved. It came with the Blackberry. It works pretty well, although you don't hear someone telling you where to turn of what to do as in other GPS systems.

You can only use NavTeq though right?

the 8830 has wifi and the 8820 has GPS, that is the differences between the two. Otherwise, basically identical phones.

Oops! I meant to say the Curve has a camera. I don't know about the 8820. However, I think it will have WiFi.

The 8830 has no camera, but the 8820, which is just coming out, does.

Nope, I don't start working for AT&T until October 8th now. Just got approved by HR today.

Ah, it's been a week, did you get your phone yet?

I am going to start working for AT&T Mobility in a few weeks, and during the interview process, my manager doing the interview said that I would be getting a converged device as my company phone, per AT&T regs. Now, everyone else that has currently worked there has bought an iPhone and uses it as their company line, except for the manager, who has a Blackjack. I told him that I am a fan of Apple products, and I will buy an iPhone for myself at some point, but if I'm getting a >$500 phone for free, I want to get a Blackberry or a Treo. His eyes lit up like a __________, because of the fact that he's got someone else that can show another phone besides iPhone.

I asked if the 8820 was available yet, he said it's in the warehouse, and he would do his best to get me one.

No camera phone, but it does have functioning GPS and mapping built in, plus all of the usual BB features.

Crackberry addicts, what do you think about the new 8820?
