    Hello and welcome to CPF.

    It doesn't seem like a phone lock issue. It could be that your N70 might have a faulty SIM card reader. But first, try updating the phone's firmware. Check out the Nokia website for more info. If that doesn't work, flash the firmware. If it still doesn't work, then more than likely you know it's a hardware problem. If you don't want to do the repairs yourself, you can contact Nokia support and have it shipped to a service center. With the N70, I doubt that it would still be covered by the manufacturer's warranty because this phone was released quite a while ago, so you're going to have to pay for the repairs (which the prices might be steep). If you don't want to deal with the hassle, just sell it as a parts phone and get a newer model.

    Hi all new here but hoping you can help me with my query. My wife has just given me her old N70 to use but when i put my sim into the phone and try and make a call it comes up with phone disconnected?? I have now tried her sim in the phone in the phone and now with her sim it also says disconnected. has the phone locked itself?? can i unlock it if it is?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, happy sunday!!! neal
