    Lovely...I got in touch with Alltel tech support and was walked through reprogramming and it STILL doesn't detect EVDO.

    Any HTC or Alltel folks here that can help?

    This is killing me...

    I just got an Alltel 6800 and like it a lot.
    I still have a Treo 700p, and it picks up EVDO without a problem.

    The 6800 hundred is still on 1X in the same area.

    I am roaming outside of my base service area in Montgomery, AL, but I know I am using Sprint's towers in Birmingham, AL.

    I have soft reset, hard reset, looked for settings and whined a lot to myself, but I can't figure it out. I am going to update my PRL this evening when I go to Montgomery -- hopefully that will work. I just got the phone Sunday and the guy obviously updated it for the first time at the store.

    Any ideas besides trying PRL update again?
