thanks for trying! I will see what I can find. very frustrating that it seems so difficult to find people at the stores who know the right answers.

Most every carrier charges @ $50/mo extra to tether.
Let me do some research on your phone, and get back to you...
OK, I got too many google search hits on Htc Tilt tether to talk about.
    Google it and good luck

    Here's the $39.99 Plan:
    PDA Personal Max
PDA Connect Unlimited data usages plus 1500 integrated Bolt-on for PDA devices only.
    no tethering allowed

am I reading this post correctly, that if I have the $39.99 data plan on my tilt phone I cannot tether it to use as a modem for my laptop? because I have been trying (and failing) to get that to work, and it's the one thing I told them when I got the phone that I wanted to do.
    thanks.

Each applications are used depending on the different users based on customizing. Do some research and use a search engine to find applications that would best suit your use of the phone. One good site is XDA-Developers. BTW, feel free to ask away any questions there...

Look here for an alternate browser: Opera browser: Home page
I'll have to look further for places with other downloads.

I have had mine for a month and have really liked it. With medium phone use and internet use I easily get 3 days of on time before I'm down in the 20% range. One secret i have found with the Li-ion batteries is not to let them charge too long. When the LED turns green pull the plug. For some reason the charge software/ hardware doesn't like to be powered up for hours after it is fully charged.

Besides that I have used most of the features and devices on the phone and it performs very well. I did get the garmin GPS software, it runs REAL nice. On my last flight to LA it showed me I was travelling at 418MPH and even gave me a very accurate ETA!

I'll probably switch to another browser than IE, since it does have some limitations. I have the $39.95 smart phone plan, since that's what AT&T told me I needed with all the options on the Tilt. When I tried the $19.99 plan with another smart phone my TM didn't work.

What do you mean sneak it in? You mean the media is 200 texts and the pda is internet? Thats how i'd get internet and text messages? Why is texting on this phone so much? I have my blackberry and I play $20 for unlimited

One positive is the 3G, its ultra fast and works well

One Negative, the battery is horrible, battery technology just isn't good enough yet. If you get the device, turn off the bluetooth if not in use, since it uses about 4 times the power output of IR connections.

The keypad is nice, it works well, nice spacing between the keys. And the Windows Mobile 6 interface allows for connections to Exchange Server 2007 with HTML viewing of emails.

The device is a little bulky, but it offers easy access to business applications, and the Mobile 6 version is the professional version, which means you can not only view, but edit your MS Office documents right on the device.

Its a little pricey, but it really does offer alot of excellent features, including an easy to connect WiFi.

The browsing capabilities are something left to be fixed, I hate Mobile Internet explorer.
