The phone was issued for use in Europe/Asia. It is triband having the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 1900 MHz bands. You can try any SIM card to see whether it is locked.

This is what I find if the phone is locked and has not been modified:
    country: portugal
    provider: TMN, Telecom Moveis Nacionais

    v4.20
    20-04-05
    RM-37

    Hi,

How can I find out what the cellphone provider is based on IMEI and code inside the phone?

I have an old cell phone locked, but don't know what the provider is. I want to find that out so I can unlock it remotely.
I need to know what is the provider the phone is locked to.
there is a code inside the phone and IMEI:

    Nokia 6610i
    code is 0525329
and when I press *#06# this is what comes up:
    xxxxx
    type: RM-37

    can you help?
    -TIA

Please do not post your IMEI--xj
