does all samsung cell phone has data cable does it come with when i buy the phone or is it optional??

and if it does not come with it does that mean it can't be transfer files via data cable??

why dont you just use data cable to like upload ur own ringtones?

    Ok,
I am disappointed in that apparently I have a phone that no one has yet tried this w/ on here at this forum.
It is an alltel samsung sch-r600.
I can Bluetooth the mp3 files to the phone no problem, I can play them, they are in "My Ringtones" folder. But I do not get the option to "Set As" a ringtone at all, I can only play them. Lotta good that does. I tried to use the uploader, FAIL.
I got the sms, but no attachment, I used the web browser, went to the site, entered the code, got the message, "content type not supported".
Am I FUBAR'd on this or what? File size is less than 300kb, I am at a loss as to what to do. I have dozens of custom ringtones that I made and used on my old handset (PPC 6700) but am quickly running outta hair on my head to pull out at this point.
WTF anyone know what I need to try next. Just read through the entire thread, I am going to go and try a few other uploader sites, but I have a sneaky feeling that alltel/verizon has somehow blocked using anything other than what they want you to use. That being said I know there has to be a way.
    Help help help please!

I just figued out how to make and transfer Mp3's to my Samsung Rugby A836.
Use the Sony Ericsson DRM packager.

Place the DRM file where ever you like in the configuration options and ensure that it is selected as combined delivery.

Select the Mp3 and Create the DRM content. ( you do not have to reduce the file size and it will work with small WAV files.

Plug your phone in and select media player when it asks for the connection and open the phones directory.

Place the .dm file it created in the directory into the ring tunes folder.

    disconnect your phone.

find the file in the media player and set as ring tune.

If you try this with PC studio and phone explorer or in mass storage it will not work and will not recognise the .DM file that you created.

    Hope this helps.
