I put it through the wash. When I plug it in, sometimes I'll take the electric activity, but I don't see anything on the screen, and it definitely did not work. However, I wonder if there is a way (even if I have to dissect it) to get to the storage part of the phone and extract data.

You can ask for help from a 3rd-party application to retrieve data from dead Android mobile phone easily.

Kindly recommend a professional Broken Android Data Recovery software for your reference--Mobikin Doctor for Android.

what they are saying.....is if you had a memory card in the phone...and you had it set to save all your stuff (i.e. wallpapers, pictures, songs, etc) to the memory card, all you'd have to do is install the memory card in your new phone, and you'd have everything you had on your old phone on your new one. For those that didn't back up their phone to SD card, needs to install android data recovery software to help me out, like this tutorial shows.
That's why backup is so important for each smartphone own.

I have almost exactly the same problem, though mine is an Alcatel phone.Photos of my parents who died shortly before the phone went dead (my Dad bought it for me).

The phone sales guy I took it to said it couldn't be charged up as something had blown in the circuit. It would need something to directly access the board memory chip. Something he didn't know how to do.

The main problem is that the phone can't be charged up to operate, so no software is going to work, unless the memory chip can be attached directly to some kind of power source and then to the computer.

If anyone has an idea who can do this, I would dearly like to know.

    Hi,

I have faced the same problem and tried lots of utility but Stellar phoenix photo recovery software recovers my mobiles images. You can also try this. Connect your mobile with windows PC and install the software. Then using advance option of this software recover the deleted images. You can get this software here: .photo-recovery-software.com

Oh yeah.. I know I could do that, but obviously I'm not talking about having a memory card. I'm talking about extracting data from a dead phone's hard drive (I don't know what you'd call it.. but the internal memory for the phone).

Not that I can tell. It has a sim card, but I know that's not what you're referring to.

does that cingular razr have a micro memory card?

cingular. I've already moved on to a new phone.. but like I said, I have a renewed desire to get those pics off my phone and onto something more permanent...

Cingular reps already tried and said they can't, but I also know they're not going to go out of their way and do anything crazy to it because it's too much work and/or too risky. The simple answer is just to say, "nope, can't be done."

Even if I have to do a bit of work, I'd like to try to get some images off my dead razor.

I put it through the wash. When I plug it in, sometimes I'll get electrical activity, but I don't see anything on the screen, and it definitely doesn't work. However, I'm wondering if there a way (even if I have to dissect it) to get to the storage part of the phone and extract data.

Why you ask? Well, some of the first pictures of my girlfriend are on there (all totally G rated), some of the first pictures of my son are on there, and there are some pictures of my boss who just passed away from cancer last night. I wanted to get these pictures before, but I guess just the fact that he actually passed away... and his wife made a small page w/a few pictures on them... really spurs me on to try to get that data back. I'd like to share some more pictures w/my co-workers and others that knew him that reflect the good times that he had.

I'd appreciate any help... and like I said, I'm willing to try whatever I need to... high tech or not.
