    Stores are not obligated to give you a new phone when you purchase a lost/stolen phone. Just tell your seller to give you back your $$$, unless you bought it AS-IS..then thats pretty much it for this situation.
    There is another option but its risky,I wouldnt even do it myself.

    I bought an lg chocolate vx8500 off someone for pay as you go (yes its telus), but when i tried to activate it, i found out it had a bad esn.

    Is there anyway i can fix this so the phone is usable again?
