    If you use itunes you can do it directly though that, or any player or encoder that will write into any format, since WAV is the standard that Windows uses.

    I think there's a way to do it in windows sound recorder too. But any of the programs listed in this thread will do.

    Do a Google search for GoldWave. I've used their program for quite a while, and it will convert, edit, and manipulate your sound files nine ways to Sunday.
    Back in the day when I downloaded it, it was shareware. It only suggests you register the program when you load it, but it's fully functional even if you don't. (Of course, we all register or buy our shareware)

    I've tried using some other "lossless" formats, and it's the best by far.

    I believe U can use windows XP default software... windows media player to burn mp3s to CDs... if U do not want to use nero.
    Also U can try Exact Audio copy for so called perfect audio copies....from CDs.
    There is also links for MP3 encoders/decoders... have fun

    no-one would no where i can get a MP3 --> MIDI ??? thanx d00ds!
    HELLO!!! R U dead? I found this site for midi - U should definately try it out www.midibuddy.net

    U can always ask if someone has the mp3 of a tune here.

    Otherwise if your asking for a mp3 to midi converter it aint possible as midi is a format that only contains information on how and when musical notes should be played but not the actual audio itself - where as mp3 is the audio. - In simple form

    Winamp is very easy to use for a first timer user. So it's great whenyou don't use it every day...

    You can use winamp or Nero Rom. Both work well.

    i use dbpoweramp when decoding mp3, however i use audioactive when encoding mp3 cause it uses a fraunhofer encoder.

    If it's for burning cd's, Nero make the conversion in real time, so you dont have to convert your mp3 files in wav's
