I run a wireless store in pensacola fl. I unlock cdma phones all the time for Page Plus Unlimited. It definately can be done, however only your talking and texting will work. No data, ie. picture messaging and ringtone downloading. But if you have an old sprint, verizon or other cdma phone that you spent alot of money on and would like to continue using it then its definately possible.

I see a lot of information about unlocking a phone from one network (sprint) to another (Alltel) as long as they are both CDMA. The forums have very little about this and the information tends to be sparse on how and what phones -vs- what networks.I have a predicament, I want to go with Metro PCS here for the unlimited aspect of the provider but I do not want any of the phones they are offering at the price they are offering so I am hoping to get a CDMA phone from Verizon ( like the LG X10000 Iphone clone ) and unlock it to work on the Metro PCS service.

When I called Metro PCS here in the Atlanta, Ga, the representative was forthright in saying that some people "claim" to be able to unlock phones and if they can Metro PCS will allow you to subscribe using any CDMA phone. So I am hoping that more information is coming concerning how to unlock and the experiences with unlocking CDMA phones.

I thank anyone in advance for any information or replies.
