hey people today's april 11, 2009 and i just got all the accessories that one needs for pc to phone and vice versa transfers. and because i had just solved some of my own transferring issues with samsung sgh a737 phone, i would like to offer help because i know how frustrating this process can be. so here's what u need to know.

buy usb cable specifically for this samsung phone from ebay. real cheap deals there. i got a usb cable with driver disk, sd memory card (4gb), and the headphone adapter (because your regular headphone won't fit in this phone) all for under 20 bucks on ebay, from different sellers of course. once u have it all, just use the data disk which must have inside it the usb driver setup file and pc studio file. first install the usb driver. then install the pc studio. make sure during these entire installations, your phone is not connected to ur pc via the usb cable, or else your pc won't recognize ur phone. once both driver and main pc studio software are installed, restart ur computer. then connect ur phone to the pc with the usb cable. u should see messages saying device found and what not. go to start menu and open the pc studio program. u will see various icons, among which is phone explorer. open it, and u will see on the left hand side a list of folders on your phone and the same on your pc. if u have the memory card inserted in ur phone, u should see the "memory card" written there somewhere. double click the memory card thing, and u will see music as a sub folder. this is where u wanna put all ur songs by dragging and dropping them. u can create folders within this by just right clicking. now, if u click on the graphics, that's where u wanna put your pictures and stuff. likewise for video.

say u don't have a memory card (i recommend getting one. i got my 4gb for 6 bucks on ebay), there's only so many songs u can save on your phone because it has limited capacity for data. but say u want a few pics or a couple songs there anyway. all u have to do is click on the "sgh a737" thing and u will see audio graphics and video etc folders. click on the music folder and simply drag and drop ur songs to this folder. do likewise for pics and videos and what not. but like i said, ur phone does not have much memory to store to hold too many things. that's why i suggest getting a sd memory card compatible specifically with this phone. if anything here does not make sense or u want explained, just email me at (guess what, as i tried to submit this post,. they said i can't post email addresses because i am new to this website, like i have to have 20 posts or something. so sorry i can't give u my email. u are on ur own, sorry).

off to the ringtone issue. there are a few ways to install ur own ringtones. what renders u incapable of using ur own ringtones is a big sized ringtone. some say it has to be under 600 kb some say 100. look i had a 387 kb ringtone, and when i played it and clicked "options" it didn't give the option to "set as" a ringtone. then i downloaded a shorter version of that ringtone sized 269kb and my phone let me use it as a ringtone. so i think the correct threshold for it to work as a ringtone may be 300 kb.

i have this ringtone called police chase remix i downloaded free from (again, they don't let me post web links either, so just go to zedge dot net and check out ringtones there.

now, if you go there u will see that the size is 269 kb. this is the one i was able to set as my ringtone. this website is awesome. to download u don't even have to sign up or anything. just DON'T click on the big button that says download. instead just click on the little "pc download" button and save the file on your computer. later open the phone explorer like i described earlier and then put this file on the memory card audio folder. play it on your phone. click on options and set as caller ringtone. u are set.

now u can do this process to download other ringtones from this site. if u wanted to make ur own ringtone using ur own song, this website allows u to do that. only u have to sign up for this though. just mere registration, nothing else, i think. sorry i haven't done this myself but i saw that option earlier but didn't try making my own ringtone. i like my police chase remix. haha.

any way, i hope this helps. i know the original thread title is bluetooth mp3 to ringtone, but as i read some posts, i saw people who had non bluetooth issues too. i don't use a bluetooth, so this post of mine may not work for people looking for help with the bluetooth transfers, but otherwise, u should be have no problem if u just do as i explained. i know it can be a little frustrating, but like i said if u have further questions, just email me at the email address i noted above. alright, good luck.

i put them on my memory card thinking that it would be fine there. nope. still wont let me use them as ringtones. but i dont really want to change the file size of the mp3 bc then the sound quality will go to hell.

i too am having problems with jad and jar files .it seems as if most are now a unsupported file type. i do hope someone can help resolve this issue.
i think i need the code for the phone to allow enable Serial Java download -most games are 3rd party games and are not working

You could also put the songs on the memory card and transfer them that way.
make sure they are in the correct folder.
