lol@candy bar. I'm too new to this lingo. hehehe. Once I got what it meant though, I definitely agree... the Sony Ericsson w580i is a good selection. You mentioned something about it having extra features which makes the phone expensive... are you planning on getting it with a plan? Or, are you just looking to get a GSM phone? 'Cus if you're looking to get a plan, my friend e-mailed me a site I've been recommending to friends and people I know on-line like crazy. For example, that Sony Ericsson w580i is free with a new 2 year contract with AT&T. Here's where you can find it:

    1) Connect, copy, then paste this link to your address bar:
    cellstores. com/mobile/?referringdomain=lightyearcom&eid=572767
    2) Click on AT&T in the Phones by Carrier menu.
    3) Scroll down until you find the free Sony Ericsson w580i.

By the way, those phones you see in that link are new phones. My friend got a free Palm Centro from Sprint not too long ago. They're not like refurbs or second hand phones... if that crossed your mind. lol. Anyways, hope that helped. Later

have a look at samsungs range. they have range of super slim phones here in australia which i looked at wen i was making my decision. they have the low end c170 which is super basic however still slim and functionable. they have their new ultra range which the thickest phone is 12.8mm i believe. their u100 candybar is 6.9mm thick with the previous model being the x820. they have much the same specifications just born of two separate phone generations. hope that helps a little.

thanks. i took a look at the phone, and everything look great, but theres a lot of features that i dont need, and that makes the phone alittle expensive. i like the music player and 3.5mp camera, but i dont really need it. any other suggestions??

new here. ive been trying to track down the Samsung X828, but i cant find it ANYWHERE online to buy. i need help looking for an alternative. im just looking for something that can call, and im simply using this as a travel phone that i can take anywhere.

    needs to:
-thinner than 10mm (give or take 1 or 2mm)
    -color screen
    -candybar style
    -text enabled
    -good call quality/reception

    dont want/doesnt need:
    -camera
    -bluetooth
    -videos
    -games
-speakers(although i think all have this)

ive looked at the MotoFONE, and if there is no other solution, then i guess ill get that. but i really would like a color screen though
