Sounds like you and me have the same requirements and question. But since post is much older could be that some opionons change or software flash made one better then the other. I also am leaning toward the 650 but needed confirmation about how well the phone works. Thanks for the post, wonder what you went with.

Any chance you could expound on 100 times better. Making same type choices and of course at my advanced age need the phone to actually work as a phone too. LOL.

I will not be using emal or text messaging or internet. My dilemma is I need to decide between the 650 and the 700p. There are many more 650's to buy on ebay then there are 700p's. So what I want to know, with what you see I am going to be using the phone for, is it worth the extra money to buy a 700p over the 650? I don't want to buy something I will regret buying later. Are there other outlet to purchase an alltel phone other then ebay that would be as good of a deal? Thanks for any help you can give me.

That really depends. If your major concern with a smartphone is email, web and other data, then go with the 700p. The 700p uses EVDO for network connections and is much faster than the 650's 1x connection. I've used both and it's really a toss up for me. The 650 is faster to operate, the 700p has been plagued with speed issues since release. The 700p has much more internal storage memory. More room for programs, without having to run them off of the SD card.

I would have to suggest that you do not get a Palm at all. They have a horrible track record for just about everything. Bad phone quality, poor reception, constant software problems and the list goes on and on for both the 650 and the 700p. I would suggest getting a BlackBerry, but if I had to choose between the 650 and the 700p I would go with the 700p.

    Hope this Helps.
