Even with a perceived slow connection, it was much faster than EDGE. Wasn't a comparison so much of who's network was faster in a head-head.
perhaps there're not many users this time
T-Mobile HSDPA is a lot better than ATT in NYC
currently ATT is suffering "under-provisioning" problem, 3G performance degraded
    by my real experience
I get up to 1Mbps with T-Mobile HSDPA (with data card)
and up to 600kbps with ATT (with CU500 tethered with USB)

    but they'll launch in October
it's about time to save money to grab either SE TM506 or Android device

I did a quick comparison test between my friends AT&T iPhone (3G) and my Samsung g810 (T-Mobile EDGE). No stats, unscientific page load, but hands-down the clear winner was AT&T from our quick comparison.

My BB, Motorola, Nokia, and Wing purchased in the past year from T-Mobile weren't 3G capable (I have this never ending phone upgrading obsession) I suspect the majority of phones in user hands aren't.

Oddly enough, though my last phone (n95-3) and current were rated the same for 2.5 networks, the Nokia seemed to be alot faster. I'm still getting used to the Samsung, so perhaps a few weeks of use will clear that up.

Unfortunately for me, my phone isn't compatible with US 3G networks, so I'll need to get North American version if Samsung brings it stateside.

I am one of the few have data card sold from Stelera Wireless, which supports AWS HSDPA
usually I get up to 1Mbps, page loading is fast like DSL at home

Being in Colorado, I can't say anything directly, since they don't have it here yet (Yay for just being a test bed for home phone service VoIP! 9.99/month unlimited nationwide calls? Bye Vonage!).

    However...

3G == Much faster than EDGE (2.5G) across the airwaves.
    But...
Does your phone SUPPORT 3G? That is the question. If your phone does not support 3G, you will not notice any increase in speed whatsoever.

Is anyone using T-mobile 3G service in New York or Chicago. Is it much an improvement over EDGE? If yes what phone are you using?
