Hi there, the SGH a117 is a dual band 850/1900 GSM phone.

I am presuming you are trying to connect while outside of NA, since you mentioned Vodaphone. Outside of NA, the frquency used is 900/1800 and your phone is not seeing the Voda network. You will need a device that has 900/1800.

    Hope this helps.

Can a Samsung SGH-a117 on AT&T be unlocked?
