What are you running on your 810?

Is it tethered to your ATT phone or just wifi?

If it's tethered, are you happy with the data service? I may have to
jump ship as Alltel is being bought out by the bastards at Verizon who
will just decimate Alltel's great service ASAP. I'm forced to look for
a new home, soon. I use about 14-18GB/mo for $25 on Alltel and noone
    complains.

I like the 810, but would rather have a full keyboard and 32GB of SDHC
memory aboard. N800's are getting very hard to find. The USB Control
is a great addition to its flexibility. I'm typing on a full PC
keyboard plugged into the N800's USB port using rdesktop to type this to
Xnews back on my WinXP box thru a friend's wifi, tonight. We just got
done configuring a new gaming beast for him and are waiting for the
    loading to get over with.

Using a 500MB video file to benchmark loading the 16GB memory cards I
use with the tablet, shows the 1TB drive plugged into the tablet's port
is over 4X faster loading the file onto the external SDHC card than
plugging the card into a USB adapter and moving the same file to the
same card using WinXP on a Gateway box. I don't know why....??

    Nevertheless;

That some of our neighbors insist on pissing in the pool doesn't mean
it's ok to piss in the pool.

    I've an N810 but I'd rather discuss that where it's on-topic.

Not much. About the same as Mac or OSX has to do with ATT.

    Many ATT users have N800's.

What exactly does this have to do with AT&T Wireless?

Twin 16GB SDHC cards aren't really much storage if you are into videos and
movies, so I've upgraded my storage on the Nokia N800 Linux tablet with:
    http://tinyurl.com/FruitFone
from Circuit City, after playing the price match -5% game with Best Buy's
    $189 sale price on SC's tax-free back-to-school weekend sale.

If you lay it down, it also makes a great little 1TB "tablet stand" to set
the easel of the tablet upon....(c; Fed up with the 6" cable to USB A to
USB A genderchanger to the long cable that came with the drive, I made a
new cable that simply has male mini USB plugs to go between the tablet and
the drive, about 18" long so you can still hold the tablet in your hand to
use the stylus. The cable is a very flexible tiny shielded one from
another USB cable, with new connectors on it. Soldering mini USB
connectors SUCKS, by the way. It does look very neat, now. I even found a
neat little fleece-lined carrying case the drive and it's tiny switching
    power supply fits into.

I found a little 12V switcher power supply that plugs into the car
cigarette lighter and replaced its power plug with the one that fits the
new drive. The switcher that comes with the drive has a 1.5A 12V output,
but the car cord's 1A switcher runs fine in the hot sun barely getting
warm. I ran the drive in realtime watching a movie using a 2.5AH AGM 12V
battery pack for a camcorder and it had plenty of power left after 2 hours
of continuous use. I wouldn't want it to run down during WRITE sequences,
but reading is what the tablet will be doing mostly so it's also fine.

The Maemo hackers wrote USB control:
    http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/usbcontrol/
so we can switch the USB port to HOST or OTG, besides its default
    PERIPHERAL mode.

I still can't believe this little tablet can access everything on that
    drive....1TB!.....for $176!

Moving large movie files to the various memory cards with this direct
connection is amazingly fast! ....for some reason MUCH faster than moving
the same files from this same drive plugged into my WinXP box using a USB
adapter for the 16GB SDHC card under WinXP Pro.....???
