Recently a friend gave me an older laptop he didn't need anymore, so I gutted it and installed XP with SP3 to use as a mobile word processor and internet surfing machine. While it has a wired NIC, it's a little too old to have internal wifi.

So then I remembered that I had read about my P4000 being able to be used as a modem for a laptop. I've downloaded the the HTC USB drivers and got them installed, but it's not working.

What I'm looking for is the ability to connect to my home wifi network using my P4000 as a sort of a stand-in for a wifi card. Is this possible?

Note that unlike some HTC phones, the P4000 uses something called "WModem" instead of "Internet Sharing".

    Thanks in advance!
