I have a 2GB micro SD card and the way I use to put music on it is this:
    1. Go on youtube and copy the link of your songs and save it on, for example, bearshare (to download bearshare put it on google).
    2. After the song has loaded on bearshare, it will appear on a folder on your desktop or on "My Computer".
    3. Then enter your SD card and copy+ paste all the songs.
    4. I have a blackberry curve so you can do all this on the phone as it has internet.

I have a HTC Evo Shift and was trying to add music to my Mini SD card. At first I tried what I thought would work which was use a mini SD adapter pop it in the sd drive on my labtop then cut and paste from my music files. Well it kept saying it was write protected like some of you mentioned. I even thought that it could be locked like the solution that worked for others as well. But here's the tricky part. Each time I unlocked it and put it back in it STILL didn't write. So after trying to check the advanced properties and everything, still nothing. So I took the SD adapter back out to find that ever time I put the Adapter back in the lock would slide to "lock" by itself! I grabbed a piece of clear scotch tape, taped the switch to unlocked and viola! Who would of thought tape could solve a computer issue. So if this is happening to you, try tape.

My PC has no wireless/bluetooth capabilities. My SD card reader works fine with a notrmal SD card. IS it possible the reader/writer is having problems with the micro sd in the adapter? Are reader/writers available that accept the micro sd memory cards directly? Any answers would be appreciated.

I have the exact same problem with my new A920. My card reader/writer is able to extract information(photos) off the card, but every time I attempt to write to the card, I get the exact same error messages as sky9; 'The disk is write-protected Remove the write-protection or use another disk.'

All I get at Samsung's 'wonderful' website are the instructions on how to transfer mp3's to the card from the PC, which always ends with the above-mentioned error messages. Could it be the card reader/writer? Are there card readers/writers available that accept the micro sd card directly without the adapter?

I really could use some help, as I purchased this phone primarily for the MP3 capability and haven't been able to use it yet(I refuse to pay $3.00 plus browsing charges [$.05/kb, or $50/MB]for every mp3 download from my service provider).

it should format the memory card as soon as you put it in...or try adding music to your phone and then turn the phone off and then back on again; I have heard it works on some other phones but other than that i'm not sure-"danphillips" should be able to answer yuor question...look him up on other posts and send him a message and he will help ya.
