I'm having trouble fully wording this. Let me know if that makes sense. If not, I'll elaborate.
so we can do without Outlook, but can we use hotmail?

It is the version of outlook, I went out and bought outlook 2003 and that was the problem. In the paperwork it states outlook 2002 or higher with Verizon.

    Thanks 4 your input,

I am not sure what you are doing, but it is a very easy process. It might be your MS Outlook version. Make sure it is a Genuine copy and that you use automatic updates. It was a breeze for me.

Outlook is just the 'middle guy.' You should also triple check your email account, which is where I find most problems lay with sync-ing issues.

What verison of outlook are you using? It has to be outlook 2002 or higher. I've got 2000 and mine won't sync either.

I just purchased a Blackberry Pearl and spent 3 hours trying to sync it with M/S Outlook, as it turned out, it would not sync up. I don't know if there was something I was doing wrong, I read the directions, but I kept getting this error message. I am thinking of turning it in and getting the 8800 because of the GPS feature, but I don't want to have the same problem. The most impressive feature of these new Blackberry's is the track ball and the super bright screen.

Also, does the GPS feature on the 8800 do voice directions like those of stand alone GPS devices? Any comments would be appreciated, thanks.
