    OK - now I get it - thanks.

    Are there any pay-as-you-go phones that will work in the UK?

    AT & T perhaps?

    Yes, you can call to the UK but the phone will not work while in the UK. I thought that was your intention and I just wanted to let you in on that bit of information. I have used Tracfone for some time and am very happy with their service.

    Thanks

    Hi connectwme;

    I believe you should take a look at this:

    http: -- www, auristechnology, com - tracfoneild - countries.asp

    [dammmmmit - I am unable to post links. I have not made enough posts.
    I need at least 20. Please replace the dashes with slashes, and the
    commas with periods.]

    ... and they don't charge extra for international calls.

    THANKS!

    Hi;

    Can anyone recommend a good, inexpensive, pay-as-you-go cell phone with
    good coverage for both the United States and the United Kingdom?

    I don’t need much in the way of features, just reliability and good coverage.

    So far, I’ve been looking at Tracfone.

    Can anyone recommend anything that might be better?

    (I’m purchasing my first cell phone, BTW.)

    Thanks!
