as far as I know free codes does not unlock your phone, so even if you would find a unlock code or whatever you'd have to spend some money.
This site has a nearly perfect with Google checkout and they were recommended highly in the cell phone forums.

I used them to unlock my cell phone. contacted them and within 30 mins i had my unlock code and my phone was unlocked.

Unfortunately, Sony Ericsson phones cannot be unlocked via software. You either need to contact your provider and bribe them (usually via a nominal fee of sorts) to give you the unlock code, or you need to take it to a local phone shop and have them unlock it (which will also probably set you back $20 or so). There is a way with a select few Sony Ericssons to unlock them via patching through a USB cable, but that's not really keeping with the spirit of safety...

True, some folks even try to advertise their services without paying fees as well. little do they know that these are grounds for getting banned from the forums.
