Mobispine, which is a Swedish company is in the process of developing an MMS application for the iPhone. The application is still under development and has yet to be approved by Apple. The MMS app will be carrier-branded and also promoted by the carriers. Downloading of the app will more than likely be done through the iPhone Apps Store once the app is approved by Apple. Users will be able to send and receive true MMS from an iPhone to any phone with this app. Because the application will be carrier-dependent, it is up to the carriers to make the app available. In the U.S, for instance, the application would need to be sanctioned by AT&T Mobility. It is not know if carriers will offer Mobispine's MMS application to subscribers.
