Last week, according to "phonenews.com", there were rumors that reported that Walmart would begin selling a $99 iPhone 3G, with 4 GB of storage. PhoneNews.com did not report at the time on those rumor postings nor were there any confirmations.

There was, however, new information that had surfaced that appears to dash the unfounded rumor. The site of MacRumors, posted a Walmart ad, scheduling the iPhone for release at the end of December. The advertisement only mentioned of the existing iPhone 3G models, with no mention of a 4 GB iPhone 3G.
