Good for you -- None of that negates what I just said.

You're welcome to insist on paperwork, or a shiny gold star, or whatever
other terms yourself and the merchant negotiate, but in terms of a
credit card dispute, you're no worse off without a proper receipt, and
potentially in a stronger position if it means that the merchant didn't
get your signature in the process.

I always get the paper work. If not I go elsewhere. Went to the apple store
with a friend today. They said they would send his paperwork in e-mail.
(Which he does not have) So he went to bestbuy and bought it there. 2200.00
Computer. They made up some BS about there printer was out of paper. I'm
sure if they knew what he was going to spend there printer would have
    worked.

Please read your card holder agreement again. You're better off without
a paper trail, the merchant takes the risk, not the card holder.

If the merchant doesn't have a piece of paper with the correct total and
a signature, the card holder will win the credit card dispute without
    any financial exposure.

Turn your Palm or Windows Mobile-based phone into a credit card terminal
    for $0.00:
    http://www.merchantanywhere.com

Like with the iPhone application, the merchant account runs $25/month,plus
    transaction fees.

Unlike the iPhone app, Merchant Anywhere offers an optional bluetooth combo
card reader/receipt printer which is not only a bit more professional
looking than fingering a credit card number into a phone and telling a
customer he'll get a receipt via email, but qualifies the merchant fora
lower transaction fee. (Credit card companies charge lower fees on swiped
transactions since the fraud rate is lower- the swipe "proves" the merchant
had the actual card in hand.)

Ya, I'm going to give my credit card for payment without a receipt. E-mail
    it they say.
Sure, that's going to fly. Buy a item for xyz.xx but get a bill for xxx.zz
Then fight it out with your bank.

Without a paper trail, your asking for problem's.
