I do recommend waiting a bit on the G1.

Yes, it is a great phone...but I have seen many customers disconnect service because of this phone. It kinda crashes and then burns.

The Google didn't investigate which network the device should go on...it shouldn't have been on T-Mobile's. The Android is one of T-Mobile's first 3G device. They cover about 10% of the nation with voice coverage. The rest is provided by a roaming partner, most likely AT&T. T-Mobile then has 3G in less than 100 markets nationwide, and it isn't expanding quickly.

You, as a business professional, should be on a network that provides it all. I recommend determining if there is a device through Verizon Wireless or even maybe AT&T that could meet your needs. I think the Blackberry Storm from Verizon Wireless actually could. It does allow Third Party applications. The Samsung Omnia from Verizon Wireless also will be able to meet your needs, by far. They will require a $29.99 data plan, but as a business professional...you should have one. Oh yea, almost forgot. Verizon Wireless' HTC Touch Pro may also be able to complete your needs. Verizon Wireless has the nation's largest coverage area. Place calls when you need to. Use the 3G data service almost anywhere. The HTC Touch pro and Samsung Omnia both have Wi-Fi.

If not, can someone recommend a phone based on my needs? I am currently with Verizon. Most of my friends and family use them as well, so I am simi-reluctant to switch. However, most, if not all of Verizon's phones are crap, and their data plans are very expensive. So I am looking for a phone and carrier that fits my profession and can provide cheap bandwidth.

I would like to be as cost-effective as possible
