Yes, you have to buy a monthly data plan to use the internet.

I have a similar question. I just got a Sony ericsson T715 with a 2 year fido plan, and in my plan I have unlimited mobile browsing and unlimited text messages. Now here's my question: the phone has a built in facebook app, is the data usage of the app covered by the unlimited mobile browsing, and also for instant messaging is that also covered by the mobile browsing? or would that require a separate data plan?

Because from my understanding the unlimited mobile browsing only covers browsing in the mobile browser and nothing else.

    Hi,

I'm on a $15/mo plan with fido (no DATA plan). I wanted to know if browsing the internet on my phone (Nokia 6301) is free if I connect to my home router first.

    Thank you.
