Talk to them about it politly and see if they will go down in price. If it was like new, I would pay 50-100 dollars for them to release it.

Generally phones reported lost or stolen are black listed and cannot be reactivated.

If they had insurance on their line, and filed a claim to get the phones, then the one that was lost (but then found) would need to be resent back to the insurance company.

Verizon can't just remove it from the list. They aren't certain who exactly you are. They aren't certain if you didn't steal it. I was implying you did though.

When they got the replacement phone, they found the original phone in their kids toybox. Anyhow they phone is in immaculate shape. I called verizon and they told me that the original owner who reported it lost would need to call and give the account information to release it from the list. Then I could activate it. Well the owner wanted another 100 for the release of information. Verizon told me that they would not be charged for the phone. It would be free to do so and I could then activate that phone with my existing #. They won't do it unless I pay them ANOTHER 100 to do so. I already have both phones so i don't want to pay again...... IS THERE ANYWAY TO GET IT OFF THE LIST. I OBVIOUSLY HAVE THAT PHONE AND THE REPLACEMENT, SO COULDN'T THEY TRACK IT WITH THE SN NUMBERS???
