will u plz tell me how can we know that this set is made after feb bcoz distributors will already have purchased thousands of nokia sets and as it was nokia 1st touch phone so i was about to buy but just waiting for price to get down little bit but thanks again for informing in time , u saved my money

Reports have come in that all Nokia 5800 XM handsets that were made before February have a major defect! The defect is the speaker, which WILL die within a few months and will need to be replaced.

Mobile-review.com discovered this fact after they had spent $4500 to buy phones, breaking 10 of them and spending many hours figuring out details, which includes investigating the defective speakers.

Nokia has commented on it, but said the problem has now been solved. Nokia reported it was the speaker supplier. Nokia goes on to say, that the speakers with the problems have been replaced as well as the supplier.
