I almost bought this phone a year a go when my 2-yr Verizon contract was up and considered switching to AT&T (AT&T rebadged this phone the "Tilt").

However after extensive research I learned that the graphics on this phone were very slow. Switching from portrait to landscape layout would take half a second to a second (painfully slow) and most other games and graphics apps sucked on it.

Strangely, the hardware has a graphics accelerator chip in this phone which would solve all those problems but it was disabled, and HTC would not publish a firmware update to enable it.

Is this still the case, or has there been an official update to enable that chip?
