I was hearing that the new update will allow you to text horizontal that will make it a lot better.

The main improvement with 3.0 will be the ability to call up the landscape keyboard anywhere, not just in safari. I wouldn't put any hope in thinking they're going to downgrade or offer a downgraded keyboard similar to cell phones or blackberry's 'sure type' keyboard. I have no personal knowledge, but it's my guess that they're just going to have the landscape anywhere feature, which, in my opinion, is going to be awesome. I have virtually 100 percent accuracy with the landscape keyboard. I'm not half bad with the portrait keyboard either. One tip: when you're typing, the key isn't accepted until you release the key, so, if you hit the wrong key, you can slide left or right (or up or down) to the correct key, and then release, and you'll not have to backspace and hit it again.

yes it has, and what's annoying about it is most of time the predictions and assumptions of the phone isn't right. haha.

Yeah. I had that experience too. I don't know if it was the keypad or the main keypad, you know, the hard one inside. Very frustrating.

The iPhone will learn unknown words after a while if you keep using them, then it will begin to suggest those words when it sees you're typing them. Also, it even will unlearn words after a while as well if you stop using them.
