It appears that the CU720 is a phone that is simply not supported by T-mobile for picture messaging (MMS) and T-zones access. T-mobile relayed the same incompatibility concerns with me. Any ideas? Picture messaging would a fantastic option here. I am currently left with a very pretty paperweight. If you can figure it out for me, I’ll mail you a check.
    I just bought the same phone and had the same problems. All you have to do is call t-mobile and ask for tech support, they will walk you through it. It takes at least 25mins but well worth it! I love my new phone. GOOD LUCK!

    To have the t-zone to work and have MMS, do the following:

    Menu->Settings->Connection-> Network Profiles then click "New"

    Connection title:
    T-Zones
    Authentication:
    PAP
    Username:
    * leave blank *
    Password:
    * leave blank *
    APN:
    epc.tmobile.com

    then click save. This will allow the t-zone to work on your browser. Next, to set up your MMS settings, do the following:
    Menu->Messaging->Message Settings->Multimedia Message->Message Center->Options->New

    Name:
    tmobile

    MMSC URL:
    h[]ttp://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    *remove the []
    MMSC Proxy:
    216.155.174.050

    MMSC Port:
    8080

    Connection Mode:
    TCP without Proxy

    then save it, and activate that profile. If all goes well, those should be the correct setting for tmobile tzone and mms on an unlocked AT&T CU720 Shine as of October 18, 2008

    do i still get a reward?? haha

    I have spent two hours on the phone with Tmobile trying to make it work. I have manually put the T-Zones settings onto my Shine. Still no luck. Tmobile said that even with the correct Tzones and MMS messaging settings, it may not work because this shine is "unsupported". Is this possible? I mean, the Shine is a very smart phone and I imagine that it is compatible with virtually any settings I desired. Any ideas?

    You'll need to find a way to get the T-Zones settings put on the phone. The CU720 (Shine) is configured to work on AT&T's MEdia Net.
