Thanks guys for all of the great info ! I have been trying to get this process down and move over some music for a couple of hours now. Finally got it and now off and running.

Connect your iPhone to iTunes and do the following:
1.On the summary tab of your iTunes sync settings check "Sync only checked songs and videos"
2.In your music library check all the songs you want to sync to your iPhone
3.Make sure there are no exclamation points next to any of the songs you want to sync to your iPhone
4.Make sure you have authorized your computer for all Apple IDs for purchased music you want to sync to your iPhone (in store>Authorize This Computer)
5.Check "Sync Music" on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings
    6.Sync your iPhone

I think the actual question might be how to move music from the computer to iTunes, then the iPhone. If that's the case, put all your music that you want on your phone into a folder, then point to that folder from iTunes. iTunes will read the folder and create a list, then, at that point, simply connecting the phone should transfer the music to the phone unless you have manual syncing setup. If that's the case, then after the phone is connected, from iTunes, click your phone on the left column, and press sync. If you right click and edit the properties of each song, and click the summary tab, and make sure the Artist, Album name, and Song name are correct, then in iTunes, you can select 'Get Album Artwork' from the Advanced menu, and iTunes (generally) will find the album cover for the flow mode in the iPod. If not, you can manually edit the album and add your own image (you can search google for the album covers you need), and add them manually.

When I first loaded music onto the iPhone, I had about 70 songs from about 30 or so albums, and it took a bit of time to get the album artwork and info straight, but now, as I "aquire" new music... nuff said, I pre-edit the properties, and add the info if it's not there, or correct it if it's wrong, which often times, it is, and then when I transfer the music to iTunes, iTunes finds the artwork about 75 percent of the time. So, I my 'fix as you go' policy has made it easy for me to keep up with having proper song/album/song name and artwork on the phone, which is really nice.

If you connect it to your computer, you should be able to automatically transfer all of your music. Hope that helps!

haha. what's with the 5 posts anyway?

and also, it's possible though that itunes is not set on autosync right?? so he needs to manually click on "sync"

Connect the phone to the computer, iTunes will open and the sync process starts automatically.
