I don't believe it has anything to do with the SIM card. It's either you have a defective handset or something is not provisioned correctly on your line/account. I would say call up AT&T, but they are closed on Sundays. Try heading into a store and see if they can diagnose the problem.

    Ousia
I just got a new phone for my graduation present.
It is an AT&T provider Pantech Matrix-C740
previously on my old phone I could not have text messaging.
    No sending or receiving texts.
(My parents put my old SIM card in my new phone, so that I would have my contacts and everything [which also did not work])
With this new phone my parents added text messaging.
Unfortunately I cannot receive texts, and apparently I cannot send them.
It says that they have been sent, but who ever I text says that they did not get them.

So, I was wondering if perhaps it is because of my old SIM card from my old phone that did not have text messaging capabilities
    or
if it was because I just got the phone tonight and it takes time for everything to be put in order?

I'm not sure, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
