Every phone have their own format and you will have to follow those rules. Yeah LG is bit advanced in address book applications and this one is their plus point.

I returned the Pantech Matrix, mainly because the sound quality was horrible. I could hardly hear the person on the other end...too tiney, hollow sounding. I exchanged for an LG Vu which has excellend quality sound, best I've heard so far. The adress book requires that you enter multiple numbers for landline, cell, office, etc under each individual name....but that is a mere inconvenince compared to my original phone that I had for almost 3 years. I've very happy with the Vu.

I just bought a Pantech Matrix. The address book displays names but does not identify if the listing is a cell phone or land line. I have to click on the name where I'm able to store multiple phone numbers under a single name. Prior to the Matrix, I owned an LG for 3 years. This phone's address book displayed a name and ID'ed land line, cell phone, etc with an icon beside the name. If prefer this method.

Is the Matrix an odd ball or have all (or most) newer phones started listing multiple phone numbers (landline & cell phone) under a single name?
