    Completely NOT compatible.
Bell is a CDMA provider. In fact, in Canada, Bell and Telus are CDMA, with Telus also using iDen (similar to Sprint). Fido and Rogers are GSM.

I am not sure what's Bell's policy for activating phones they do not sell, but they use the same technology and bands (850MHz and 1900MHz) as Verizon Wireless, so technically the phones are compatible. It's just a matter of policy, because some carriers in the US will not activate phones they do not sell. I am not sure if Canadian carriers have similar policies.

What about verizon and mts mobility? I am on a verizon plan but have some extra phones and some friends of mine want to know if they'll work on their plans
