My Xenon started to announce my phone calls and text messages. Such as "New message from Jake." or, "New phone call from mom." It does it while on vibrate, I've turned it off for thirty minutes, I've taken out the battery and sim card and it won't stop. I've searched throughout my phone and there's no settings for it. It's pissing me off. though hearing it announce some of the names it somewhat funny, but I can't sleep with it going off all night cause so many people text me. Can someone help please!!!!

Ok, so what I just did to put ringtones on my phone is go to any free MP3 ringtone website, download a ringtone and if your computer has bluetooth capability just bluetooth the ringtones to your phone. From there you can select them as ringtones when your phone has received them. I've found that ringostation.com has the best ringtones for this. (quality, etc.) and I've never had a problem with my phone not accepting them as ringtones. good luck

Make sure the ringtones are .mp3 or .mp4.. My cousin sent me some of his ringtones from his blackberry but they were .wav I believe and they couldn't be set as ringtones and had horrific quality.

I had the same problem bothered me for weeks..I do not believe that transfering is possible unlike the sony ericson which has a web site with useful and free software the people of lg are leaving us out to dry..Thanks to your question I found what the problem is.

The amount of space it takes..."ringtone"..by expierimenting I found that 240kb is a safe bet..you can play around and try abit more..this seems to be very tempermental when it comes the size of the ring tone..molst phones have a time "30 sec" but I found that this is not true with this phone..only got it for the qwerty keypad..if sony comes out with a qwerty keypad ..kiss this phone and all my lg's good bye..I have 3 xenons..the att software stinks for this phone..it freezes when it wants to ..

    well wish you good luck..
also I have an older pc so I have my memory default set to mass storage..that awy all your downloads go to your memory card.

I've made sure the ringtones are no larger than 300kb as someone else suggested on another board but that still doesn't make a difference....

The weird thing is that from the memory card i input in the phone, which came from my old Motorola, there are only two audio files that appear in the "sounds" list.
If you are able to get the music to the "sound" folder, u can set it as a ringtone.
If it stores in the "audio" folder, you are screwed.
Anyone know how to pass music files from the "audio" folder to the "sounds" folder????
I'm having the same issue. I've downloaded ringtones to my computer, transferred them to my memory card, then they show up in audio, but I can't select to use them as my ringtone! It's really ticking me off!

I have an LG xenon and can use all of my personal ringtones. On your menu, go to My stuff, click on Audio then click the tune you want to use. In the upper right hand corner click the icon that looks like a paper (options) select use as...ringtone or ringtone ID.

    Hope this helps

I really like the organization of the menu, along with the home page being able to go from plain and blank to either favorite menu destinations(like games and at&t music) or to favorite contacts (with 3 sub-menus for extra organization).

THE THING THAT IS SEVERELY ANNOYING:
LG made it so that with the Xenon, the user can NOT set any non-carrier tones as a ringtone. You can download a free ringtone, you just can't set it to any tone area on your phone. Not as a ringtone, message tone, or alert tone. This is extremely annoyng to me because all I want is the Battle Theme from Final Fantasy VII, which AT&T obviously does not have (I checked).

Keep in mind, the phone does supply a Recorder and a Make UR Tones app. I'm still confused... if you can't set music you record or tones from non-carrier websites as ringtones, why would they supply these options?

This one bad thing, for me, is overshadowing the good of the phone. And this is coming from someone who ALWAYS pays for ringtones unless AT&T doesn't have it. (so it's obviously not the money that's pissing me off)
