    I get that. I wasn't talking about the pre-order situation, but when the device is actually released. They did it with the two previous iPhones. They allowed customers who were not eligible to get the device at a higher price (not exactly retail, but higher than the subsidized price). I think customers had to extend their contract, though.

    According to Apple (I just called) they are not allowed to "preorder" the device. So if they run out, customers who aren't eligible will be forced to wait.

    This new stunning iPhone will be released on June 19. It will be $199.99. This device is available for preorder now. My sources say that Apple has already reached capacity so even the preorders may be sold out at this point; however, you're still on the list!

    This device is only available to new AT&T subscribers or AT&T subscribers that are eligible for upgrade. It isn't available at retail no contract value yet.
