I don't own a USB cable to move music onto my Samsung Eternity. I use a microSD card that I bought to get music off of my computer (the extra storage space is quite useful for my large collection). Before that I used the phone's bluetooth capabilities to download music onto my phone.

I'm only speaking of my experiences with other items that I've connected to my computer via USB here, so this might not be helpful, but what the hey, it might be. If you can get the computer to look at the folders inside the phone instead of trying to sync it as a music player or as a phone, you might have more luck. Then at least you can drag the individual music files off of your computer. You can also look for your phone in the My Computer folder (it'll be one of the drives denoted by a single letter: click around until you find the one that actually has files in it).

    Good luck!
