I just purchased a 2010 Ford F150 with Sync installed. I have a Samsung M510 cell phone which I have been using a Plantronics mobile headset for 2 years with no problems. I quit using the headset and paired to the Ford Sync. Since then I have been having problems with the phone and the connection to the Ford sync. The phone only connects to Sync about 1 out of 5 times I enter the truck. If I call out on the phone then Sync may connect. If I connect when I start the truck I may loose the Bluetooth symble on the Sync and loose conection between the phone and Sync, but I can call out on the phone and it shows Bluetooth enabled. Sync may connect the next time I start the truck. The phone has been hanging and I have to remove the battery to power off since I connected with Sync. Did Sync load anything into my phone? I visited the Ford dealer and he reset Sync and then paired again. The link failed again.

Thanks for the suggestion! My Auto-Accept was set to "no", so hopefully changing it to "yes" will do the trick.
    Thanks again!

    Hi bvcpa,

I'm Mike and I'm a Ford employee. I do see that your phone is listed on the Tested Mobile Phone Chart on syncmyride.com, so I would agree with tavenger5 to verify how your phone behaves with other bluetooth devices first.

Also, I did notice that another SYNC owner with a Samsung Upstage posted a tip in the SYNC Owner to Owner forum to resolve a similar concern. He suggested doing the following:

    "On the upstage go to:

    Tools, then

    Bluetooth, then

Trusted Devices, Highlight SYNC, then push options.

under option select Auto-accept and select yes.

After I did this as long as I make sure the lock switch on the side of the phone is off when I am in the car it works fine"

There is also a SYNC Support Center that you can contact should you have any SYNC-related questions. Hope this helps!

    Mike

Does the phone freeze when disconecting from any other bluetooth device?

I just bought a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid which comes with the Microsoft Sync program. I was able to sync it with my Samsung Upstage, including the phone numbers, etc. I've also been able to use it. However, more often than not, when I leave my car and try to use my cell phone later, it's "frozen". I can't do anything to it, including turning it off. It eventually "unlocks" itself, but there appears to be no pattern as to when it will freeze up or not.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
    Thanks!
