You should have the USB cable that came with your Nokia 5310. Lift up the tiny little door (I use a paperclip) next to the earphone outlet, plug in the cable, then put the other end into an available USB port on your computer. In your Explorer you'll see NOKIA listed, so expand that folder until you see GALLERY. Drag/drop your MP3 files into Gallery. You have up to 900MB storage space for tunes. I never use the Playlist feature, because my MP3's are already in the order I listen to them, so all you need to do is go into FUN & APPS/Gallery, then select one of the tunes. It will play them in sequence.

This worked for me, until today: Your MP3 files, converted to MP3 with Itunes, can be transferred as a simple FILE/COPY from their location on your computer (in the Explorer directory) to your Nokia phone using the cable that came with the phone. You don't need Nokia software to do this, you need only the cable. My problem is this: Today I tried my usual copy of 800mb worth of MP3 files, and the message "Not enough free space" came up. So I turned everything off and tried it again, but this time the computer doesn't see the Nokia 5310, but the other device I use on that port (Sandisk Flash Drive) works just fine. I tried plugging in the cable with the phone off, then turning the phone on, but no difference. So anyway, give it a try. It worked for me until today. Anybody reading this with a suggestion for my problem, please respond.

I was able to just drag and drop the .m4a files onto my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. If it's an issue with DRM protection, you'll need to convert the file to an MP3 using some DRM removal software. Tunebite is what I use, although it's not free. If it's just a couple of songs you're wanting to convert, let me know and I'll do it for you
