I never formatted the card and I was able to get other files on and from the card. Also, I don't have a USB to cell phone adaper, I'll have to get one from newegg or amazon.

Have you formated to sd card as this will need doing!

You do this through your phone or p.c i find the phone easyer!

Also the files you put on your phone the mp3's if it comes up and then goes your phone just need a quick blow down the slot were your sd card goes! Then you put your card back it!

I hope this will help you.

I can get you some info on formating if you would like to give it ago!

    Its really simple!

It's a possibility. Anytime something is done to a phone that is considered "outside normal operation" of the phone, it runs the risk of voiding the warranty.

I put the warranty thing in any posting I make that runs the chance of making their warranty void. It's sort of a CMOA (Cover My Own ... I'll let you figure out what the a stands for).

I can't say with 100% certainty that is will or won't.

Thanks, that helps a lot, but will that way on the video really void warranty?

Welcome to the world of Verizon and the the recording MP3 block.
Verizon basically cripples there phones to prevent users from loading their own MP3's for ringtones; thus forcing them to purchase ringtones via VCast.

There are "ways" around it, but doing so will void whatever warranty is on the phone.
Also, I did read that some users were having success with using the "Music Essentials" / "Music Manager Kit" package offered through Verizion, but not being a Verizion Wireless customer myself, I cannot verify if this is true or not.

One of the "ways" is do a google search for
    verizon sway ringtone hack
There will be a video from MetaCafe, watch that and follow it. That should help.

I bought an SD card to transfer get stuff on to my cellphone. I only have the basic plan so I can send anything or text.

I'm trying to get ringtones onto my phone and when ever I place short mp3 files in the my_sounds or my_ringtones folder it doesnt show up when I try to transfer from the card to my phone... It can tell that there is data on the card, when I look to see available memory. But when I open those folders on my phone it says no content, or what ever.

So how can I get ringtones on to my phone, or get my phone to recognize those files?

I also have verizon... if that mattes.

    Thanks!
