Just dont get confussed with this simply rush to the servive provider or ask to Nokia help center so that to solve your problem as, this is more beneficial to you, instead of going to any place.

actually, if i go to certain areas of my phone, it asks me for a lock code. so i am assuming they mean the unlock code

the phone is cdma and if you unlock the phone where are you gonna go? sprint, verizon, or some cdma in canada. your phone don't have sim card.
