If you're going to so many countries at once, the best solution for you would be to buy international roaming sim card which will work in every country you visit. Personally I use Travelsim when I travel - they have customer-friendly prices and pretty good service.

The sim card is kind of confusing to me because I have never used one. Does anyone know what the best providers would be. My friends in Austria use T-Mobil Cards but, I don't think they really know much about it or the alternatives.

    Thanks for any help.
You can try global traveler pack which includes a phone a sim card which will cater to all your destinations. Here try this link InTouch SmartCards: Global Traveller Plus TravPak.
I had mine a few months back and so far I dont have any problem with it. Free incoming calls in Germany, Austria, Romania, Hungary, Italy, France, Spain, Morocco, Egypt.

You might also like to read this guide we've just created at International Cell Phone Guide | Compare Cell Services. (None commercial)

It shows the main differences between your options (including OneSIMCard mentioned above), and how to choose between them.

It's a new guide, so I hope you find it useful.

A global simcard works ok if it's for voice / sms only. If you require an internet connection, you probably want to buy a local simcard to use in a 3G HSPA phone or 3G USB stick.

Try a OneSimCard.com international SIM card which I used while traveling throughout Europe this summer. You can also buy (or just rent) international cell phones which include the SIM. My outgoing calls were all around 50c/min. Incoming calls and text messages are free, and they cover 175 countries so check the website for clear rates and a country list.

    Good luck!
