    Hi.

I have a problem with my new Samsung SGH-L700. I have this phone just about one month now.

I have an 8 GB micros-SDHC inserted (SanDisk, also got a Kingston and the problem is the same) with lots and lots of files on it, pictures, videos (3gp) and mp3.

All files are accessable just fine and there is no problem.

However every time i take the memory card out and add some files to it these new files will NOT show up on the phone!

I normally shut the phone down, take the card out, insert it into the reader in my PC (running Ubuntu Linux, which is also why i can't use the data cable as this Ubuntu version does not support it), add the files to the memory card, unmount it, remove it, put it back into the phone and turn the phone on.

All old files are visible and work but the new ones won't show up.

When i attempt to delete the effected folder from the memory card (via the phone) it does not disappear but remains there, yet "empty" however when i put the card then back into the computer all the files that i added previously are still there.

So far my solution: Each time i want to add files i need to format the card (in the phone) and copy ALL data to it again.

Of course this is a major nuisance to copy close to 5 GB of files just to add a couple of songs or videos.

So is there a way to "force" this phone to detect newly added files?

I would appreciate any help on this issue, many thanks in advance.

    Kind regards.....

    Thanh
