Hi, Well I guess it depends upon their parents choice,cause in the market Verizon migo has launched a cell phone for kids ,It has only five speed dial buttons on the front which will help them a lot in an emergency.If any trouble they face they just push a button and call forward to their mom or dad. Know my kids don't have their own cellphone because my kids are young, they might let somebody take it from them, am scare they might let others use it, they might get into trouble, the only way they would get a cellphone if I was working, wasn't home when they got home from school, they have to call to see where I am, and wright now am home all the time unless i have to go to the doctor or handle some bills.

I dont' have time for poll. BUT YES. My youngest received cell phone in middle school and now if I were to do it over would receive one much younger. I have ehow article on using cell phone to protect kids. I would also add that parents do need to be smart.. limit the texting until older. and check phones daily for who is called and useage.

I had given my daughter ( who is now 16) a cell phone a year or so ago, and she got her purse stolen. I have not had the opportunity to give her another.

Sounds like a cool contest but my kids don't have phones as of yet, though they would love one. I want to see their faces when they check in. I suppose they just aren't mature enough for one yet.
