I have a Messager SCH R450 through Metro PCS. The phone has worked great for the last five months I've had it, but for no apparent reason three days ago when receiving incoming calls something strange started happening. Normally, when I receive a call from someone, I see the caller id and photo I've assigned them, or if it's someone I don't know, I see the caller i.d. info and the phone's generic graphic. For no reason that I can discern, now when I get an incoming call, a white banner appears on the screen, covering the assigned picture or generic graphic. No photo that I assigned, or normal caller i.d. appears.

The other weird thing is that instead of being able to either answer the call by pressing the send button once or 'ignore' the call by pressing soft key once, doing either of these actions requires that I press the respective button twice. If I only press once, the phone just continues ringing.

Just as suddenly as this started happening, after two days, it stopped and returned to the normal way the phone receives incoming calls and I can answer them with one click of the send or soft keys. Now it's doing the white banner thing again. I've checked every setting on the phone and nothing was changed either time that would produce this problem.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to correct it--it's driving me nuts!

    thanks!
