I love the iphone and I really like the Palm Pre. My only problem with the Pre is that it is not there yet as far as smoothness, it is still rough and a bit choppy.

The droid is awesome on the other hand but is kinda clunky.

Iphone still has my vote as the all arround best touch device available.

Does anyone know how Droid compares to either?

I visited a cell phone company the other day because I heard the new iPhone 3GS just came out and I wanted to take a look at it.
I'd say the iPhone is pretty nice and there are millions and millions of apps that you can download for it and you have so many good features in there..

I also checked out the Palm Pre that day too and I thought it was the nicest looking phone ever.
The display had such nice crystal clear quality and it was really nice to hold as well..
But the only thing is that the touch screen is like the iPhone on drugs.. It's almost impossible to get the right choice.. or maybe the screen wasn't calibrated..

    I don't know..
Personally if the touch screen on the Palm was better I would go for it..
And theres also the endless possibility of all the available apps on the iPhone.
    Depending on what you need:
    The choice is yours.

I love my Palm Pre, I got this cool on accessorygeeks.com. It is useful phone, not problem. It's not just a phone, it's a myth, an idea, possibly a legacy and a really, really long time coming. Pre pulls your different online calendars into one view, bringing you the information you want without having to search for it. Slide out the keyboard for faster and easier texting. Take great pictures with the built-in camera and flash. Watch a video on the vibrant color touchscreen. It's really a good phone

palm pre home brew community is growing very fast.. they've done some really awesome things. The awesome part is that Palm doesn't care... PRE FTW!

Leaning toward the Palm Pre over the iPhone but still no changes for me right now.
    Hardware:
iPhone doesn't have a keyboard. Huge minus. Palm Pre - Touchscreen and Keypad. Huge plus.
I use my Palm Smartphone tethered to my small EeePC to connect to the internet while commuting. Not possible with either the iPhone or the Palm Pre. This is the main reason why I am not going to switch to the latest/greatest for now.
    Service:
I have thought AT&T is evil since the 1980s when they totally screwed me as a long distance customer. I have no intention of ever giving them any of my business. I live in SF, CA which has a lot of dead zones. My friends with AT&T and Verizon have never been able to get a signal inside my house. And they charge per App download and are shutting off the Google app! Sprint on the other hand, has always provided me with 5 bars in the front and back of my house despite the fact that I live under Corona Heights and on the first floor.
I currently have a Treo 755p which I have been using for 2 years now. Its still in great shape thanks to the silicone cases I have used. I have dropped in on concrete several times and it only has a few scratches. I am not going to give up what works for me just yet.... copperjet in SF

That's probably the sweetest part. It just seems to be a smoother experience. All of my iPhone friends were very impressed!

congratulations on your new purchase Derek. One thing I like about the Pre's interface is the use of individual app cards to switch between applications. Neat huh?

I just received the Pre last Thursday and must say I am very impressed with it. I looked at the iPhone a couple of weeks ago, but the Pre just blew me away and it also seemed a little snappier.

i forsee WebOS having a good potential. They're slowly getting their stuff together and once they do, they'll give the iPhone a run for its money. iPhone issue are popping out a lot these days, battery overheating, poor battery performance etc. etc. I'd go with the Pre.
