    A new app has been launched by Nokia which allows the visually impaired as well as the bling to read SMS messages. The app is the Nokia Braille Reader and works on touchscreen phones. The Nokia Braille Reader uses the Braille Alphabet and leverages on tactile feedback.

    With the help of the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired and the Tampere University, the Braille Reader could prove to be a wonderful thing for the blind.

    The Nokia Braille Reader works with only these devices: Nokia’s S60 5th Edition smartphones: Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia N97, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia 5530, Nokia 5230 and Nokia X6.
